Easily Convert Pixels (px) To Centimeters (cm) For All Your Printing and Designing Needs
First, select the mode of converter you want to use. Our pixel to cm converter has two modes - for web designing and for printing.
Once you are done selecting the mode, just enter the px value in pixels box or enter the width and height in pixels boxes (if you are in the printing mode).
The tool will automatically do the conversion as you type the value and show you the output in centimeters box.
Our tool also works both ways, meaning you can perform reverse conversions from cm to px. Simply enter or change the value in the centimeters box to view its pixel conversion in the pixels box.
BONUS FEATURE: In Printing mode, enter the width and height of the paper (in centimeters) on which you intend to print your design. Then, by adjusting the PPI, the tool displays the corresponding pixel dimensions your design should have, ensuring literally the pixel perfect print.
Convenient, isn't it? If you find our tool and its features helpful, feel free to save it to your bookmarks (Ctrl/Cmd + D)

Conversions as per 300 PPI |
To do conversions for other pixel, centimeter or ppi values use the tool above.
Pixel To Centimeter Conversion Formula:
Centimeters = Pixel / PPI * 2.54
To convert pixel to cm, simply divide the pixel value you want to convert by the PPI (resolution) and then multiply it by 2.54. For example, if an image is 1920 pixels wide and has a resolution of 300 PPI, the calculation in centimeters would be: 1920 px ÷ 300 PPI x 2.54 = 16.26 cm
Now doing this calculation is pretty easy, but determining PPI for your conversion is the most important thing as it's not a fix value, and depends on what task you are doing pixel to centimeter conversion for.
So, how can you determine the correct PPI for your px to cm conversion?
Well, before I explain that it's important that you know what exactly is PPI and what is the difference between PPI and DPI.
PPI stands for Pixels Per Inch. It is the number of pixels in an inch.
To understand it clearly, imagine a 1" x 1" square. The number of pixels in that square is the PPI.
Higher the number of pixels in that 1-inch square, higher the resolution (PPI) and more detailed that image or design would look on a screen.
DPI stands for Dots Per Inch. It is the number of ink dots the printer prints in an inch. Again, higher the dots per inch, better the print quality.
DPI is a similar meaning and sounding term as PPI, which is why DPI is often confused with PPI.
The main difference between PPI and DPI is that PPI is used to describe the resolution of digital images, while DPI is used to describe the resolution of printed images.
Although PPI and DPI technically measure different things (pixels vs. printed dots), they can be considered equal for the purposes of converting pixel dimensions to real-world units like centimeter. In other words, 1 PPI = 1 DPI.
Now that you know about the PPI/DPI, let's talk about how you can determine the PPI for the conversion of pixel to cm.
Unless you are doing conversions for web design (i.e., writing CSS), there is no fixed PPI value for printing, graphics designing or other job.
However, there are standard PPI values for different use cases that are widely accepted and used by professionals. I have mentioned some common ones below—try them with your designs and prints, and tweak as needed until you achieve the desired image and print quality.
So as mentioned earlier there's no one fix PPI value that you can use when converting pixel to centimeter. It depends on your specific task and requirement.
The above mentioned common PPI values for different use cases will give you a good baseline if you are confused. And you can tweak it from there to find the right PPI for your conversion.
So we hope that our pixels to cm converter tool makes it easy for you to do conversions and all the related explanations on this page helped you to learn to do the conversion correctly.
